How to Bring Quality Traffic to Your Website
April 9th, 2010 | 1 Comment
It’s one thing to get traffic to your website and that certainly helps more than hurts your cause. However, quality traffic is what you’re shooting for because it engenders increased sales and more networking opportunities. You could hire online marketing professionals to manage and promote your site, but if you’re a fledgling in the game of Internet Marketing, you’re not going to have the funds to make it happen. This article will show you how to get quality traffic to your website without sacrificing an “arm and a leg.”
- Find the most popular articles written in a given week and link these articles to your website. It helps if the articles are related to the theme of your website or blog. If you cannot find popular articles related to your subject matter then create a news, sports, horticulture, or technology section on your site and place the links under that specific heading. You only need to select one or two headings to place the links, as not to stray too far from your site’s objectives.
- Add a forum that allows others to comment on various aspects of your website. In the forum, give your site visitors the ability to enter their own personal URL. Doing so creates a win-win for both you and your visitors. They get a link on your site, you’re linked to theirs, and it increases traffic for both parties. You can clearly see evidence of this networking phenomenon when you check your online statistics via Google Analytics, Alexa, or Compete monitoring sites.
- Add two to three RSS Feeds to your website that are related to your content. Once per day peruse the articles from the feeds and comment on these articles. This leaves your stamp on the respective blogs, articles, and sites associated with the Feeds.
- Start your own Social Networking Site and tie it in specifically with your business. In other words, if your business name and web address is Carshubb dot com (and there actually is a website by that name), then make your social networking URL match the name as best you can. If you are utilizing the many free sites that allow you to create your own social network, their name will be a part of your domain name. That’s ok, as long as you manage to make your business name a part of the URL. Ning is a good site for your own social network because it’s free, it’s one of the highest rated, and you won’t have a very long URL because of it.
You’ll have the option to use your own domain name for about $5 – $10 per month if you choose to do so. It’s wise to wait a few months as your social network grows before considering paying any money for it. Use the service for free first, and maybe, down the road you can eliminate the ads from the networking company, use your own personal URL, and your own advertising.
Be consistent with your efforts and in a short amount of time you will have increased the quality traffic to your website or blog.
